SRC Visits Parliament

The Student’s Representative Council of the Pentecost University College paid a working visit to the Parliament of Ghana on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. This was to help them familiarize the Council with the inner workings of Parliament and to formally inform the leadership of Ghana’s parliament of the existence of a student parliament here in PUC.

Speaking on their visit, the President of the SRC, Mr Jonathan Mbir said it was an educative experience for them. He said, sitting in Parliament he had come to know how Parliament functioned. He said, the Council used the opportunity to invite the leadership of Parliament to formally inaugurate the University’s student parliament.

The parliament of Ghana resumed sitting after going on a seven week recess for the Easter festivities. The current meeting is the Second Meeting of the Fourth Session of Fifth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

Parliamentarians will be discussing in this meeting among others the Right to Information Bill, the Public Health Bill, Broadcasting Bill, University of Professional Studies Bill 2011, Ghana AIDS Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2010.

Pentecost University wishes parliamentarians fruitful deliberations.
